FlatFish no.2
The next in the series of FlatFish Furniture currently being created by Designers at Large is the FlatFish 2.1. As with its FlatFish cousins, the FlatFish 2.1 has also adapted to meet the challenges of modern living. Created for life in a small space, this piece of convertible furniture effortlessly transforms from a coffee table to a full sized dining table.
The construction of the FlatFish 2.1 is similar to the FlatFish 1.2. Its sub-structure is formed from waterjet cut light gauge aluminum and its legs are waterjet cut and formed from 3/16” plate steel. A variety of table top surfaces are offered in order to customize your FlatFish.
The waterjet cutting process also allows us to optimize the use of material, thus minimizing waste. Any scrap material from the cutting process is used to create additional products such as jewelry pieces. We call these pieces Rem[a]inders. For us these remainders remind us to take responsibility for the allocation of our precious resources.
